Dredging industry

The Netherlands and Belgium are the undisputed leaders on the global market when it comes to dredging operations. Whether it involves the extraction of sand or gravel (capital dredging) or the maintenance of ports and waterways (maintenance dredging), the Netherlands and Belgium top the list.

We supply chrome steel dredging pumps with a suction diameter of up to 38” (~950 mm) for extracting sand or gravel on board a vessel. Unfortunately, we do not yet offer submersible versions of this pump for use on the ladder.

In addition to the primary dredging pump, we offer a wide range of support pumps. For example, each suction head is fitted with a jet water connection, whereby water is used at high pressure (8–12 bar) to dislodge the sand. We offer various options for this in different designs and materials, ranging from cast iron to Super Duplex stainless steel.

Once in the hold, drainage pumps are used to compact the sand to maximise the vessel’s load capacity. Here too, we offer various solutions, ranging from self-priming pumps that can operate with a ‘slobber’ to chrome steel wear-resistant pumps for efficient operation with minimal wear costs.

Thanks to the many years of experience that IB-Pompen and our suppliers have gained on board dredgers, we are always able to offer the right pumping solution. Our focus here is on high quality, maximum sand production and minimising maintenance (costs).
