The primary liquid flow, generated by an electric submersible pump, passes through the calibrated nozzle and the suction area of the secondary air flow, and leaves through the mixing tube and the diffuser. As the primary liquid flow passes through the nozzle, its velocity increases considerably, creating a stable vacuum in the air suction area so that air is drawn in. The water (the primary flow) and the air (the secondary flow) are then fully mixed as they pass through the zones of high turbulence in the ejector(s).
