Double Wall Plate Heat Exchangers
The double wall system consists of two thin flow plates, welded together at the four portholes to form a plate pair. Each fluid flows on its respective side of this plate pair. Should a crack or hole develop in one of the plates, fluid migrates into the space between the plates, rather than directly into the opposing circuit. It is then channelled through dedicated leak channels, making it visible from the outside - particularly in the inlet and outlet areas. This means that a leak is detectable before any mixing occurs.
