Slurry & sand extraction
The market for abrasive fluids, such as slurries, sand extraction and the dredging industry, is one in which pumps are expected to deliver extreme performance. Consider, for example, sand extraction involving a 50/50% mixture of water and sand that needs to be lifted from the seabed. Consider the recycling of fly ash or soil washing plants for soil remediation, as well as various industrial processes and even mining.
For this market, we have developed a specialised type of pump designed to perform where other pumps fail. These pumps utilise hardened materials such as Hi-Chrome or MineralCast Silicon Carbide. The hardness of these materials is 680 Brinell or higher.
We also offer pumps in a fully rubber-lined version, a good solution for liquids that corrode metal and/or have a very fine structure.
We offer these solutions in both horizontal configurations and as tail pumps, where the drive remains above the liquid and there are no further bearings or seals within the medium. We refer to this as a ‘cantilever’.
Thanks to the many years of experience that IB-Pompen and our suppliers have in slurry applications, we are always able to offer the right pumping solution. Our focus is on high quality and competitive pricing and lead times; however, when making this selection, we always take into account energy consumption, operational reliability and the minimisation of maintenance (costs).
