VMax series FK

The FLSmidth Krebs vMAX is a vertical cantilever slurry pump specially designed for pond and floor cleaning in the mining and minerals processing industries. Its optimised hydraulic design enables the pumping of large solid particles and highly viscous slurries, whilst preventing blockages on the suction side.

The recessed impeller design ensures sufficient turbulence to keep solids in suspension and prevent sedimentation in the tank, without the need for an additional agitator. When the slurry level drops below the pump suction inlet, solids can fall back unhindered through the discharge pipe without damaging the impeller. This eliminates the risk of severe vibrations, which can lead to catastrophic failure in conventional pumps.

The pump has a bottom-only suction configuration, preventing solids from building up at the bottom of the sump. The oversized suction strainer holds back large particles and prevents premature blinding, so the pump does not need to be removed from the sump for cleaning.

Two versions:

vMAX — Metal version for large solids and highly viscous slurries. Ideal for standard to extreme tank cleaning. Available on a skid or in a tank.

vMAX-R — Rubber-lined version for corrosive slurries containing finer solids. Suitable for a wide range of acid and slurry temperature combinations, with multiple material options.

Advantages

Why choose the VMax series FK

No sump level control required
The fully recessed impeller is not impacted by slurry returning down the discharge pipe. This allows continuous operation without level control, and the pump can run dry.
Keeps solids in suspension

The vortex effect created by the impeller generates enough turbulence to keep solids in suspension. No separate agitator is required and no sediment builds up at the bottom of the sump.
Low maintenance cantilever design
There are no bearings or seals in contact with the slurry. No water flush is required and no impeller adjustment is needed, which keeps maintenance and the risk of failure to a minimum.
