Heat exchangers
A plate heat exchanger is a device that transfers heat from one medium to another without the two fluids coming into contact with each other. The heat exchanger consists of a stack of thin metal plates arranged closely together. Separate channels are formed between the plates through which the different media flow.
Due to the large surface area of the plates, heat can be transferred very efficiently. In this process, one medium releases heat, while the other medium absorbs it. Depending on the application, a plate heat exchanger can be used, for example, for heating, cooling, or recovering heat from a process stream.
